Featured Speaker C. J. Winand

 

C.J. Winand“Adapting Hunting Techniques for Older Buck and Lower Deer Densities”  CJ is a wildlife biologist and an outdoor writer with columns in Bowhunter Magazine and North American Hunter. He also presents the "Whitetail Wisdom" segment on The Outdoor Channel and is on the hunting advisory staffs of Scent-Lok and API Treestands. CJ also manages and guides on several quality deer management programs around the country. All the scientific information presented during his talks is based on actual field research conducted by CJ or other prominent wildlife biologists. CJ translates this scientific work so hunters can readily adapt or modify their hunting techniques to harvest quality bucks.

 Ben Jones"Habitat Management for Deer: Foodplots and Beyond"   Ben Jones holds a Ph.D. in Natural Resources from Tennessee, an M.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from Mississippi State, and a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from Pennsylvania State University. He has studied the impacts of land management practices on wildlife and the use of forest management to improve wildlife habitat. Currently, Ben is new to the PA Game Commission where he is responsible for developing habitat management plans for wildlife on State Game Lands.

Brett Wallingford PA’s Antler Restriction – Effects on the Buck Harvest and Hunter Satisfaction”   Brett is one of the most experienced Deer Biologist with the Game Commission, a native of Monroe County, graduate of NC State University, Brett has been involved with monitoring trends in the herd and tracking the results of the recent changes in Pennsylvania’s Deer Hunting Regulations on both the deer herd and the hunting results.
