I found this mushroom while posting my section at Schocopee before archery season. It is known as Hen-of-the-Woods, or Sheeps Head. I didn't know what it was and by the time I found out how to take care of it when I went back to harvest it, it was beyond prime. I was lucky enough to find another one on state land ready to pick and made mushroom/onion soup out of some of it (delicious) and have some left to try with venison steak and maybe make some more soup. Really strange looking mushroom and very weird that I found another one having never seen such a thing in the woods before!
